We helped United Utilities to communicate their five-year business plan to their 5,000 geographically-dispersed employees. We helped the top team to articulate their plans in the form of compelling and succinct narrative. We then designed a learning experience that gave people managers the tools and resources to run a highly engaging, interactive day-long session with their teams.
Increased competition, changing customer expectations, and regulatory change meant United Utilities needed to re-define its strategy to drive operational improvements. United Utilities wanted to equip employees for change and encourage them to work differently. To help drive the change, people needed to understand the business plan and how their role contributed to achieving it. That’s where we came in.
We know everyone absorbs information differently – visually, aurally or experientially, so we developed an interactive ‘learning experience’ based on conversations and team involvement.
We equipped managers with a toolkit of materials to help them facilitate a team session around the business strategy. Sessions revolved around a series of questions, exercises and activities to promote interactive, group-based discussion – learning through doing together.
