Currys Career Week hero image
In a nutshell

How do you demonstrate to your people that you care about their career development? That was the principle behind Currys’ first-ever Careers Week in 2023. Our challenge was to quickly design essential materials – think roller banners, posters and social cards – to help promote the event and facilitate career conversations. And all in a vibrant and creative look and feel.

The result? The ‘one of the most successful internal campaigns ever’, with enthusiastic participation from frontline colleagues to senior leaders, 115 of whom shared their career top tips on Workplace.

The brief

Currys takes careers seriously. The company invests significant time and energy helping colleagues from across the UK&I to take charge of their careers. To prove their intent and make a greater impact, Currys held a Careers Week – an event packed full of activities and content, and all with the aim of sharing how colleagues can nurture their careers and own their development.

The careers team had a big ambition: to make the event Currys’ most exciting and engaging event ever. Doing so demanded impactful creative at speed: we needed to concept, design, amend and deliver everything the team needed – from double-sided roller banners, posters, social cards and more – in a matter of weeks.

Our response and delivery

Before any work began, we knew we needed to nail the creative of Careers Week quickly. If we didn’t, we’d risk missing an immovable deadline for printers and internal comms professionals. Our response was simple: collaborate closely to agree how far to “push the brand”, and tailor our creative to each specific deliverable, meaning fewer late-stage amends and making an ambitious print deadline achievable.

Naturally, when working to such tight timelines, quick and clear communication was essential. Collaborating on a shared Teams channel meant we could collaborate at pace and make important decisions together, while also giving greater visibility over priorities, budgets and updates.
