When BMW wanted to increase the number of MINIs produced at their Oxford plant, without compromising on quality, they came to the change communications experts.
BMW needed colleagues to take ownership in order to maintain quality standards while increasing production levels at their MINI plant.
Working together with the BMW team, we created ‘Mission 1,000’ – a campaign that set the target of creating 1,000 perfect cars in one day, every day. To embed the behaviour, we pulled together a communication plan for a management conference, followed by a briefing event with 750 colleagues.
We also created an engaging cascade campaign that brought the key elements of the programme to the attention of all colleagues, inspiring them to hold responsibility for their portion of the challenge, and take action.
As a result of our work, BMW achieved their targets and increased production from 850 to 1,000 MINIs per day.
