Building online communities with Bananatag

We were delighted to join the folks at Bananatag for an ‘ask the experts‘ session. Kyla Sims, content strategy manager at Bananatag and I spent a jam-packed hour chatting about the power of online communities.

As the task of building, launching and maintaining engaging digital communities becomes the norm for more internal communicators, it‘s a good time to ask some key questions.

Did we get off on the right foot?

The pandemic accelerated digital transformation. But the quick fixes rushed in to help our people adjust to remote working aren‘t necessarily the same solutions we need now.

The same goes for our online communities. Without structure and a plan, even with the best of intentions, many of these spaces can go on to become a wild, wild west.

Where are we now?

A year on, teams, priorities and budgets may all look very different. But what remains clear is the need to create spaces for colleagues to connect, share and learn.

Missed the live event? Catch up on demand.

Internal comms and HR professionals from around the world joined us for the live session, sharing their own experiences and asking brilliant questions. If you weren‘t able to join us, you can still watch the session on demand.

We discuss how to:
  • Connect and engage employees in a remote-first workplace
  • Strategise and build an online workplace community
  • Demonstrate the value of these communities during COVID and beyond
